June 8th Update (Summer Wk 2)

Happy Monday! 

Last week we made our way to the ball park to watch the Range Riders wrap up nine innings tied 10-10 with the Oakland Ballers. To the surprise of many of us there, how they break a tie is a home run derby! We got to watch one batter from each team step up and swing for the fences to decide the winner. After the Oakland batter finished his 2 minute at-bat with 3 home runs, the Range Rider hitter, with about :20 seconds to spare, hit his 4th homer to win the night!

Later in the week, the Gold and Senior swimmers organized a bike ride up Going-to-the-Sun Road on Saturday morning. Although cooler temps and cloudy weather were looming, a great group ride was had!

Keep an eye out for more team activities away from the pool this summer!

This Week and Next: 

This week we continue building back our technique and focus again on our legs.  We have our 3rd overall round of our Kick Test Set this week.

This Saturday we head to Splash MT in Missoula with Gold and Senior for some Long Course swimming! It is outdoors, so dress accordingly on the way, and have ALL of your equipment!

Next week we start our Woodland Park practice schedule!

STATE QUALIFYING FOR SUMMER 2026

To qualify for State in Bozeman this summer (MONTANA SWIMMING EVENT PAGE)

-12&U Swimmers - ANY legal time (NT entries not allowed) in races not including 400 IM, 500 Fr, 1000 Fr, and 1650 Fr which require a “BB” time. 

    -8&U max 3 individual events per day, and 3 relays (9 total)

    -9-12 max 7 individual events and 3 relays (10 total)

-13&O Swimmers - Must meet one (1) 13-14 “BB” time 

    -Once one standard is met, swimmers qualify for bonus swims 

        -One (1) qualifying time (QT) gains 6 bonus swims

        -2 QT=5 bonus, 3 QT=4 bonus, etc

    -Max 7 individual races (max 3 per day), no limit on relays
